Texting phone numbers

This should be simple, but I haven't worked it out yet on the original SPV.

I would like to text, to a friend, a phone number, which is stored in my contacts. How?

Similarly, is there any way to view the phone book whilst on a call, so that if someone asks me for a number, I can just read it out?

AFAIK there is no easy to add a phone number out of contacts into a SMS :(

To view your phonebook while on a call, just press your Home key and then select contacts as normal :)

Or a solution posted by jlowap

to send a number:

from the contacts list select the contact you want to send.

click on the sms number and them click new.

manualy copy the number from the to field then delete the number from the to field and insted put in the person you want to send the number to.
