Guest lightsurgery Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Hello everyone... I have an SPV. Recently I got an answerphone alert icon (spools) displayed on my phone but when I checked there were no messages. I then noticed that there was a little black dot in the right spool indicating I have a massage on line 2. I don't have and never have had a line 2.... !!! 150 have not been able to sort it for 2 weeks and counting despite 8 phone calls from me and 2 from technical suport. One guy named Robert at orange (who was resposible for finding the Active sync 3.7 update) gave me a glimmer of hope as we spoke for almost an hour... but still no solution... help! From Justin (www.lightsurgery.co.uk)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Ignoring the line two message part of the problem. there are two ways to normally fix the answerphone icon problem. 1, is get Orange to reset the answerphone for you (they can do this but most seem unaware that it's possible. 2, Leave yourself a message, listen to it then delete it and wait a few seconds for the system to reset and remove the icon. Just to clarify the situation the problem is a network fault with Orange and not the phone.
Guest lightsurgery Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Yeah, I'm a jedi master at sorting out the normal probs with the answerphone spool display. But this is a whole new ball-game with the logo stuck there because of a message waiting on line 2. Not having a line 2 makes it a very big problem that even ORANGE UK cannot seem to solve in the two weeks I've been in contact. Everyone seems to ignore the fact that it's displaying a line 2 message and just tells me about how to clear the spools of the screen as per the normal problem. Thanks for the reply though, nice to know people are out there trying to help.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 8-[ 8-[ There is only the be all and end all that I can think of then, Hard Reset :) Not the best solution but it should fix the problem but not 100% on that :?.
