Qtek 7070 update clarification

Hi All,

Can someone enlighten me on where to get Qtek 7070 updates? I bought my phone from Optus here in Australia, so I assumed that I would get updates from them. However, I emailed them about this and they said that I would get updates from the manufacturer (Qtek), but I can't find a Qtek update site.

Also, what's the deal with the different updates I've heard about: Smart, Imate, etc. Can someone clarify the differences for me?

As for different updates, they are designed for other networks, so if you

decide to try and install them you will be invalidating your warranty.

Luckly for you, you have one of the newer updates available, the Qtek one. :)

That's a Swedish site. Here's what it says about the update they offer:

"This update is only for Swedish sold Qtek 7070 with software version 1.42.9.2. To check what version you have press Programs>More>Settings>About, you find the information under ROM update versions. If you try to update with another software version it could damage your Qtek 7070."

As I said, I bought and use my phone in Australia (Optus), so according to the above, that update won't work.

Any ideas?

Update will not come from the manufacturer, they will come from your operator not HTC directly.

I saw Qtek in your post but did not notice your location sorry :oops: but

the update will work as will the I-Mate and Eurotel but as I said above if

you use another operators update you will be invalidating your warranty.

So unless you wish to do that you do not have a choice but to wait

until an update is available from your network operator.
