Guest stu_lowe2003 Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Found what looks like a genuine one for sale now, not pre-order.(although the sellers lack of feedback is worrying) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=41345 Stu
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 And the fact that it is probably a preproduction model as well :?
Guest DMF Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Its listed in US Dollars on USA EBay but is in Hong Kong ?? - HAH I DONT THINK SO LOL !!! It could be genuine, but way out there theres no comeback if they don't send the item, you gonna take a plane to go retrieve it ? lol.... I think the phone looks shabby too - I dont care much for flip-phones... Hmm odd the ebay link was not removed yet and the one I posted was .. hmmmm
Guest mcwarre Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Asks for payment by Western Union. Mmmmm. That will be impossible to recover. There was a big scam on eBay recently with digital camcorders. Basically, someone was selling them at about 1/2 price. Loads of people bought them using Western Union money transfer. Guess what? He dissapeared. Western Union is the same as cash. Avoid at all costs! LOL
Guest dshaugney Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 And thirdly all the pictures are fake, taken from other websites and covered their watermarks with his own pink rectangle. Zero feedback plus the reasons listed above - makes this a very big fake. Still can't wait for the MPx200!!! Yummy.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Why bother with this phone guys. I understand its a sexy little clamshell no doubts about that - but your effectivly buying an older OS now that WM2k3 is out. What are the chances of that "firmware" is it, being added on in the future ? Cheers SpaceCowboy
Guest Greywolf_Ghost Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 I thought I saw a news story on CNN that Ebay was cracking down on fake items. There should be a way to authenticate an item.
Guest liquid-core Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Im sceptical about this also, but is it possible that the guy who did that reveiw is the seller of the moto?? just a thought, but all those pictures are from the same review. Not that i would buy a pre-production model anyway, im waiting for my brand spancking new'un :>. and i cant waiT!
Guest mattscholey Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Well the auctions ended now, and nobody fell into the trap of bidding thank god. Never pay with anyone who didnt accept PayPal - you know thats safe. Matt
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Never pay with anyone who didnt accept PayPal - you know thats safe. No it's not :? Credit card fraud can still sting you when payments are concerned with Paypal. Just make sure you have the money transfered to your bank etc before sending goods. Also avoid sellers in Indonesia as most of the fraud seems to be from there at the moment. :?
