Guest TANKERx Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Now this is a piece of software built into all my Symbian phones and I would love to see it on my SPV also. I subscribe to a UK company called Telco which allows me to call their 0800 number (which changes every now and again) and then dial the number of someone I want to call. This cuts my call costs dramatically, particularly when I'm out of free minutes. On previous Nokia and Symbian phones, I can send DTMF straight from the address book and so I don't have to memorise anything, but on the SPV, I have to make a mental note of a number and keep that in my brain's short term RAM :-) to dial it when Telco asks me for the number I wish to dial. Is there any software that will do that on the SPV? If not, why don't someone write it, I'd like it.
Guest ndiqbal Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Hi Tanker I am also in the same boat... If you do find a way please let me know. I have a temp way. Say for example you girl your woman/wife everyday! you want to add this number to the Telco account. I found 1 Temp method. Try this:- Goto yr wife/woman's/partner number goto edit then in front of the number put yr access code (0800 594 1444 then press the * key untill u see letter on the top right hand side (abc) press the letter 'p' and then again so the number looks like this:- 0800594144pp016169696969 so when you send this number this will go through Telco also u can add this to yr speed dial (2). Good luck If you hav any other way you would like to share email me at [email protected] Thanks
Guest ranzz Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Why is the Pause/Wait system a temp solution? we've been using them for years in order to put the voicemail in our memory/contacts (when it asks for a password and stuff).
Guest TANKERx Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 I'd like it to be a temporary solution because; a) Telco change the access number every now and again, and I'd hate to have to go through my contacts to edit them like this ;) It's not as elegant as solutions offered by other phones, even non-smart ones. But thanks ndigbal for the reply
Guest ferret Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 then press the * key untill u see letter on the top right hand side (abc) press the letter 'p' Or you could just press menu > insert pause when you're still in "123" mode  Paul MVP has got a program that reformats all your outlook contacts (strips spaces and the initial 0, then adds +44), you could ask him nicely for a quick mod to add your telco number. You could then sync all your contacts back to the SPV. I think the program is only available to Plus members but I could be wrong.
