Guest girlpantz Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I don't know what's happened. I had my hands-free plugged in - I rarely use it so just as a test really, and the profile changed to "Headset" - pretty normal I think but.... when I took it out, it didn't change back and I can't even change it manually. I can get to the profiles menu but it will not allow me to select "Normal". It's a pretty vital part of the phone so if anyone could help me change it back, I'd appreciate it. Cheers!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Known hardware bug with the SPV, one thing you can try, is to change to a different homescreen layout another fix that has been posted about is to blow in the socket or try poking a cocktailstick in the socket (but you could invalidate your warranty doing this. The only real way to sort the problem out it to get the phone replaced under warranty. Topic moved to Help and Advice
Guest girlpantz Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Sorry about wrong section. Just done a hard reset and that hasn't helped nor the homescreen change nor poking the socket. I have a problem as the phone's out of warranty.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I presume you bought the phone secondhand then? The only option you have is to send the phone to Hays to get them to repair the fault. Only problem is that the repair will not be cheap :)
Guest girlpantz Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Yeah... bought off Ebay. Took it to the Orange shop this morning and they won't touch it, so I came back and started messing with the headset and the socket and managed to get it to stay on Normal. I just know not to use the headset again.
Guest blewer Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Once it's happened it tends to happen again, which is a load of girls pants really :)
