Guest johnnieshere Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Hello everyone, I'm new to all this smart phone malarky, just receiving my spv a couple of days ago second hand from ebay. My problems are that the phone is networked unlocked so I can use my o2 simcard but when i download a program or game it won't let me use it, so I guess it needs to be software unlocked. How do I do this? Bearing in mind I am new to the scene could someone please point me in the direction of some sort of guide or help me out in any way? Also all of the wap settings are for orange so I can't use it. Does anyone know what settings I should put in for o2 UK? Thanks.
Guest Will Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 check the gprs repository for gprs data settings for O2 (they shoudl work!) for unlocking, i'm not sure if you can use the Over the Air unlock method, as you are not using an orange sim, but give it a try at http://developers.orange.com (goto working with orange). If not, please go to 'settings' and 'about' and let me know the build number you have. Will
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Welcome to the site :) You can use the OTA method, but you need to use Passthrough so you connect to the internet via your PC. Have a look at this post for more information. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=25600
Guest johnnieshere Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Thanks for replying. Whats the gprs repository? Also I tried that website to unlock and it doesnt seem to have worked. Does the phone have to connect to the web for it to work? The build number is version 3 build 12255
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Click on GPRS settings to take you there, it's a topic in the Articles section of the site.
