Guest comebackdx Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 In the 27th October 2003 issue of TIME magazine, there is an article titled "Microsoft Goes Mobile". The article focuses on Microsofts initiatives with Orange's Smartphone and Vodaphones 'dongle'. The Vodaphone 'dongle' plugs into your PC and can be charged with credits which are billed to your Vodaphone account. The idea is that the device will encourage people to buy things online which are too small for credit card companies to handle efficiently.
Guest kyrkesmith Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 The dongle thing sounds good - for Vodafone customers. BT did a similar thing for charity donations once. I can't remember the details, but your donation added to your phonebill, and the charity got some of the money (less BT's fee). Vodafone are still going to want to take a cut of some sort, which will discourage use on some purchases.
