which Paint remover, safe on phone?

hi,

the paint job is now looking a bit tired so I'm planning to strip it down again and have another go,this time using a sealer. Has anyone done this using paint remover-if so what did you use that didn't damage the phone? I wouldn't think that any old stuff would be suitable...
