Guest wazi Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 What file extensions can the spv download from web? AND where does it put em? Hi all, gr8 forum & this is my 1st post. I never ask normally, but I've looked everywhere. What I wanna do is write a webpage where I can upload text files. Then when I am on the go I might want to download the txt file to the phone. Only .mp3 & cab files seem to dl but where?? Plus they always want to RUN. A .txt just displays in IE, but I want it as a file on my spv. Thanks
Guest JoelRae Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 good question mate... I've not found a "save as" option anywhere  Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest nedge2k Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 As long as you keep IE open, files should be in either volatile, my documents (both IPSM) or (for jpg's, txt's etc.) try the temp internet files folder (Windows). Files delete when IE is closed. As for file extentions: .cab, .hme, .mp3, .wav, .mpg, .wmv and .zip (modaco search: "direct .zip downloads"). Am sure there are others but these are the main ones.
Guest nedge2k Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Oh yeah and if you're running smart explorer and zip you txt docs, when you dl, smart explorer opens, unzips them and takes you to the folder where it's saved them.
Guest wazi Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Ok Thanks nedge. Have searched & read the other posts. I might install Izip. There may be another way to do what I want but in essesnce this is what I wanted to do; Browsing the web from a cafe. Find some info I wanna save as a txt file. Log onto my own website. Upload the file. Leave the cafe. On the train with SPV. Log on to my website. Download the txt file onto SPV storage card. READ. thx
