Guest bejiboys Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Need inputs, referrals, testimonies if it works. Need to have both my Globe and Smart SIMs at the same time in my SPV. Thanks.
Guest ranzz Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I don't think there's an actual device for the SPV, but there's a new GLOBAL dual sim that works like this: You simply cut the golden parts out of the two sims and place them in a small device which is the size of a normal sim, so it fits into any phone just like a sim, but each reboot of the phone it starts with a different sim. You can see one here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=42423 Even though it says it's for SE, in the description they mention it's "Suitable and fits ANY GSM phones" just as I thought. Oh, and look for it in other places, cause my friend bought it for 15$ including s&h, it'll be a shame to pay more.
Guest sweetyls Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 hmm... parang gusto ko rin nito... cut the golden parts? the microchip part? is that safe?
Guest ranzz Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Wow, didn't even notice I replied in the Pinoy forum. Yes, a friend of mine did it, if you follow the instructions you can get it to work in no time, it's an amazing solution.
Guest matanglawin Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 just saw the link...i must admit that it is really cool :!: nakakatakot lang gupitin ang SIM...especially if one's hands are not that steady
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Just remember before cutting up your SIM card that the card is actually owned by your network operator :)
Guest mariolouis Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 well you can always request for a new sim card anytime you wanted to. depending on your plan, you can get it for 300pesos or free. i'm checking out GH later and hope they have it already.
Guest BrAGoL Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 @ML please let us know if they have it there...
Guest matanglawin Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 i'm checking out GH later and hope they have it already. @ML any luck finding the dual-SIM holder?
Guest mariolouis Posted November 1, 2003 Report Posted November 1, 2003 unfortunately, it hasn't landed on philippine soil yet! hmm.. maybe next week i hope. if not, i'm making 1 myself.
Guest matanglawin Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 @ML great...don't forget to show us the prototype. :)
Guest mlkanapi Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 Hey guys, I might be getting my hands on a Dual SIM holder. It's the one where you cut the metal part of the SIM out and put in the holder. I'm not sure if it will work and if it will shift to the second SIM simply by turning the Airplane mode on and off. I'll ask my friend to bring me one when he comes home from Singapore early next year. I'll let you guys know if it works! I see from the posts above that there are a few of us who need this capability. Best Regards and Seasons Greetings to all! :)
Guest SmartGuy Posted December 27, 2003 Report Posted December 27, 2003 hey...this is good news...well.for those who have two sims...or networks me...I have 2? but the other one will go to my O2..hehe. want to see if this dual sim works.. well..for the smart amazing phone that is.
Guest sonborj Posted December 29, 2003 Report Posted December 29, 2003 Enterprising na lang gawin nyo when you get this holder... reverse engg... magbenta tayo dito sa forum!
Guest pyke Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 dobby_gobby_man, shet, ang hirap i-type ng pangalan mo! :) tama, mahirap masira ang sim.buti sana kung mabibigyan ka agad ng replacement ng SMART.hirap silang mag-release ng replacement sim with ur old number.they'll just "opt" you to change numbers instead.
Guest mlkanapi Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 Palpak! Dumating na youn ina-asahan kong magdadala ng Dual SIM Holder pero hindi daw binebenta nung kausap niya yung gamit kung hindi ma-testing gamit ang Philippine SIM card. Huh? :?: Sinabi ko naman na kahit walang guarantee that I'd be willing to buy it. Kailangan daw i-modify ang SIM card... I might send 2 spare pre-paid cards back with my friend when he goes back to Singapore. We'll see...
Guest dobby_gobby_man Posted January 2, 2004 Report Posted January 2, 2004 @pyke hehehe mahirap ba i type? ok lang kung @dobby nalang. kung may makakagawa nun e benta nyo dito sa forum pero free yung service nung pagcut nung 2sim ok?
Guest graphire Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 what about this multi-sim kit? mejo expensive nga lang... saw one from a friend, he ordered directly from Taiwan at half d price they're selling here. http://www.ebuyncell.com/forum/showthread....light=multi+sim
Guest dinoalbert Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 hmm...now thats more interesting. Anyone here tried that Multi Sim? http://www.ps2modchip.com/flash/simcardreader.htm
Guest casperr Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 The multi sim only works for the old sim, new 64k sims wouldnt work with it kaya not much of a use din
Guest kalinte Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 spv have two lines and just like the nokia units pressing "#" and you're in line two. does that mean somewhere out there is a dual sim holder for the spv? dont bother asking smart cs, la silang alam about it.
Guest mlkanapi Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 See my modified Dual SIM Holder. Piggy-backed on the SAP... This is held in place with heavy duty double sided tape by 3M You can use turning the Airplane Mode on & off to shift Networks.AUT_1925.JPGAUT_1935.JPGAUT_1934.JPGAUT_1932.JPGAUT_1931.JPGAUT_1930.JPGAUT_1929.JPGAUT_1928.JPGAUT_1926.JPGAUT_1927.JPG
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 ang galing naman nyan doc. only in the philippines! :D
Guest mlkanapi Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Mura pa. I'll stick with this until I hear from my friend based in Singapore for the 'real' Dual SIM Holder where you cut off the metal part of two SIM cards and put them into a special SIM with microelectronics built in... :!:
