Error when syncing phone with PC

I want to synchronise my phone with my PC, so that when I check my emails on my phone, it doesn't show me emails I've read already on my PC. I've successfully transfered files using ActiveSync before, but have never synced successfully before.

The problem is that I connect it, press sync, wait about 30 seconds, I get this error message (see attached image). I use Outlook 5, not 2002.

So, what's wrong? How can I fix it?

I had that problem

i reinstalled outlook and active sync and that fixed it.

i think its a problem with AS 3.7.1 or the blueness of your windows :)

Firstly, my windows doesn't look anything near that blue - that was what happened with I converted it from .bmp to .gif format.

The problem was that I was using Outlook 5, thinking that was the version that came on thr disk with my phone, and for anything better I had to pay for it. Although I spotted Outlook 2000 in my start menu, started that up, set it up, and its now my default email client. And after doing that, syncing working first time.

So problem solved by using Outlook 2000, rather than 5.

my activesync is doing the same now, so its serves me right :)
