Guest Red_Viper Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 SPV Geniuses Guys, got any advice on where to get Surreal Start software for SPV 2002? :?: I haven't found anyone posting this on the past months. I think this Surreal thing is cool. This would address the tiry looking default background of program menu.
Guest spacemonkey Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Surreal Start is currently a beta only available to Plus members of Modaco. Hopefully it will go "feature complete" before the end of the year and become available to the general public (for a low low price).
Guest Red_Viper Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Thanx for your providence sir. O:)
Guest jasin14 Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 what is surreal start anyway? :)
Guest Red_Viper Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 8) It is simply a replacement background for the programs menu in Smartphone 2002. Try to check it out on the http address posted by spacemonkey.
Guest spacemonkey Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 A little more than a replacement background. It's a total replacement for the microsoft start menu. If you have a real big folder on your start menu, you know how it takes ages to open? Not in surreal start... opens real fast. Also, you know how T9 mode works for your contacts list (start typing and the list narrows down) Surreal Start does that for your start menu. A final few features to clean up before I release it properly, but trust me, it's all good.
Guest Maverick Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 SM.. Maybe u can post a screen shot of how T9 works.. to let the guys know what they are missing ;-)
Guest matanglawin Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 If you have a real big folder on your start menu, you know how it takes ages to open? Not in surreal start... opens real fast. hmmm...interesting. if and when you release it...will it fall under the freeware category? (how i wish [-o< )
Guest spacemonkey Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 OK, screen shot as requested. As to release: It will be free as a benefit to all MoDaCo plus members. It will be on sale to the public for 5 quid a copy... initially unsigned, but once I sort a signing certificate out I'll even do a signed version :) In the screen shot below I have pressed 46 and my full start menu (including sub folders) has been narrowed down to this list of apps that could have begun with 46. Sorry for the low quality of the screen shot, it's a problem with my laptop, not my phone.sshot.gif
Guest Red_Viper Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 It's really cool. That's nice SM. We'll be waiting for its availability soon. Can't wait to have it on my E100.
