Guest slashformayor Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 I know everyone is probably sick of these SPV probs, but this is my first since i have had the phone. I apologise if it has been discussed on here but i could not find anything with a search. Anyway, i have had the SPV for about 9 months now, and so far, i have been impressed and so have my friends!! :) The problem i have is that i went to my phone yesterday, got it out my pocket and went to dial out (Pizza place if you must know!) but it had froze while in my pocket. The screeen was on and the battery meter had an ! mark. So i pull the battery out cause it would not soft off. I replace battery turn it on, it starts up fine, then when it brings up the 'Enter your PIN' i get a received text message sound, it vibrates then it freezes again! I have tried it about 4 times now, all doing the same thing. It seems that when i receive this message it hangs. I do have a lot of text stored on there (like about 350) but last time i checked my free space i had over half left (i checked it when i had about 220 messages). I have installed all my crap onto my SD card which is a 256mb card. I don't want to lose all my texts if i can help it, so i have not tried a hard reset. I don't think i can activesync them either as i can't get the phone to stay live. Any ideas from you SPV guru's?? :?: Best Regards Kris Harris Slashformayor
Guest blewer Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 When booting your phone leave it for about 3 mins before you enter your pin or read you text. This problem sometimes happens to me when I have recieved a sms whilst my phone has been off. Normally works for me, let us know how you get on Adam
Guest slashformayor Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 Hi, Thanks for the reply, but i have left it over an hour to do what it has to do, but i cannot even type anything in to enter my pin and such. I think i might have one too many texts in there! The reason i don't want to lose my text's is because most of them are from my girlfriend, who i have just recently got together with!! :( Call me sentimental or just mental i dunno, but any ideas are greatly appreiciated! :) Best Regards Kris Harris Slashformayor
Guest slashformayor Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Hi All, I have done a hard reset after racking my brain thinking of a way to store them, but obviously i was pissing in the wind  . Everything works ok, but i lost all my contacts as well as mails, major bummer!! That will teach me! Thanks again all. Best Regards Kris Harris Slashformayor
Guest martin Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Ouch :x There is a program call SMS2mail which might help to offload your SMS but there is a mixed reception on how well it works. Never used it myself. You can do a search on SMS2Mmail but here are a couple of topics. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...=saved+messages http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...hlight=sms2mail
