Guest SuperCharger Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Hi, is it posible for you to use wavs for ringtones? I read some pages but they were more specific to the spv I believe. I saved it to the proper directory and turned the phone off and on. but still wont come up in the ringtone selection
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Which directory did you save them to? As I do not own a Mitac I can only tell you where they should go on the SPV etc but it may give you a clue. On the SPV they go to IPSMApplication DataSounds Note the use of capitals, if they are not used the ringtones will not work.
Guest SuperCharger Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 thats the directory I put it in, along with the mid files I use as ringtones (which it recognises no prob) Any 8380 users out there that can help?
Guest nickcornaglia Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 I think you can only use one or the other. There is a checkbox in one of the settings menus for ringtones or a ringtones program that came installed on the phone. You need to uncheck "use polyphonic tones" or something to that effect in that menu. I'm not 100% sure as I dont have the phone anymore...buit I remember that being the case.....I think. How's that for a wishy-washy answer?
Guest SuperCharger Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 it doesnt work, when I click off polyphonics it fadses out the selection box and only rings like a normal ringer. ANYONE withan 8380 know how to use wavs for ringtones?
Guest howe Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 i tried and couldn't get both to operate at the same time... you either use the wavs or the polyphonics i think... wat's more is i can't seem to edit each individual tone when i turn on the PhoneRing... you install sounds to IPSMApplication DataSounds... they should play direct from there...
Guest deltona Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Hello, As I can see in my phone (mitac 8380) both mid and wav ringtones are saved in the same directory, IPSMApplication DataSounds and working without a problem.
Guest SuperCharger Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I put mids and wavs in same directory but only mids show up in the selection box. is there something I need to install??
Guest howe Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 i found that when i enabled PhoneRing... i could hear the midi tones but my phone didn't vibrate... anyone?
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 Well I'm aware of this issue as well. You have to enable Phonering and then go to; Settings - Profiles - normal - Ring type- Vibrate and ring or Vibrate and then ring
Guest howe Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 when i enable PhoneRing... i found myself to be able to choose only Vibrate or None... None of my wavs or midis come out... i placed them in the application data/sounds folder already...
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Vibrate or none? Strange I must say  Sure you're operating in profile; normal?
Guest SuperCharger Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 where do I enable phonering
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 You have to enable polyphonic rintones in the program "phonering". You can find it in the Mitac Accessories folder
Guest SuperCharger Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 I figured it out. You must disable the polyphonics in the phonering program that is installed from the Mio CD, then go through the settings and select the wav from there. Thanks everyone for all the help
