Guest eriqesque Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Like a dummy i re-associated my .jpg files in file manager with another app what should the be associated with so i can put this thing back the way it was
Guest eriqesque Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 wow 16 views and nobody knows?????????
Guest mvsmith07 Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Internet Explorer is the original association I think. IE can definitely display JPGs anyway so try this and see if it works.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 I presume this is a PC problem and not a phone one :) Depending what OS you are using jpg can be accossiated with Paint, Explorer etc. For example mine is accossiated with Photo Editor.
Guest mvsmith07 Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 I assumed he was talking about his phone and something like IA File Manager. There are file associations on SP2002 and use can use IA File Manager to reassociate file types with another application. My .jpg files are associated with IE.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 @mvsmith07 For some reason when I replied you post was not there :? As no app PC phone etc has been mentioned the possibilities could be any of the above.
Guest mvsmith07 Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Too true. I took the grand assumption that since this was a smartphone forum we're automatically talking about a smartphone problem. eriqesque, are you still out there? Your post has been replied to now as well as being viewed. Are we talking smartphone or PC problem here?
Guest eriqesque Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Yes we are talking about a smartphone the Moto MPx200 and yes i reassociated through file manager but when i tried to reassociate with IE it just flashes the windows busy symbol
Guest martin Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 eriqesque Did you get it working ? If I click on a jpeg file it loads IE with properties file://(file address) Using the registry editor I checked the keys under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT .jpeg: Content Type=image/jpeg, Default=jpegimage .jpg: Content Type=image/jpeg, Default=jpegimage jpegimage: (DefaultIcon), Default=iexplore.exe,-1004 (Shell, Open, Command), Default=iexplore.exe file:%1 I don't know if its the same for the MPX200 though.
Guest eriqesque Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 thanks guys for the help i got it back to the way it was did a master reset and all is good.
