It's weird. The backlight on my SPV won't go off. In a lit room it looks like it's off, but in the dark it's definitely on, but quite dim. (Like me!)

Anybody got any ideas? I've tried a reset, but to not avail.

Have you checked your settings in ProgramsSettingsPower Management?

Yep. All checked and in order. The light is really very dim, but it's gonna kill my battery.

All I can think of but even then it does not make sense is have

you been playing around with the registry?

I don't really want to suggest a Hard Reset but it is the last resort :?

Registry? Me? I wouldn't know where to start. I could do a hard reset, but as I've got Orange Care, I might just phone them and ask for (another) new one. Either way I'll have to set a load of stuff up again :-(

Bit drastic asking for Orange care :? they will tell you to do a

Hard Reset anyway.

What does not ake sense is that is should not be possible for the screen to

light up as you describe.

Can you actually see anything on the screen?

Also I've just had a thought, do you have the phone on charge at all when you see this? I ask this because I have seen the screen sort of light up

as you discribe but this is caused by the signalcharge LED, as it flashes

it does light up the whole surround of the screen.

It's lit up constantly, whether the screen saver is on or not, and whether it's on charge or not. And it's lit from the bottom right hand side of the screen, as if just one of many bulbs is still on. Like I said, it is weird.

Hard reset in the morning. Can't be bothered now.
