Hi,

I've just upgraded my op. system to XP Pro. Initially i had Windows M.E. and had no problems, but since the upgrade my computer wont "remember" the drivers for my SPV :-( everytime i try to sync after a reboot of my computer i need to insert the original orange CD to lets the drivers reinstall. I should note i assume its the drivers that are reinstalling - its the same message that appeared when i first installed my smartphone months ago. Any ideas how i can stop this because its getting really annoying.

thanks

Did you install Activsync before plugging the crade in?

Just starting off simple as I have not had thid problem.

I use XP Home btw.

Thanks for the reply. In answer to the q - well i guess active sync was already installed from having previously been installed when i had Windows ME. I used an upgrade, not a clean install so i could retained everything i had on my computer. Therefore the cradle will have been plugged in when the update was being carried out - so i guess if it tried to install a new, updated driver the cradle will have been plugged in. I'll try restarting the computer and installing the drivers again without the cradle in. That sound like the right thing to do? or start anyway ;-)

Infact i think i been a muppet with my explanation of the problem. sorry awarner. did try the method in the post you mentioned (just in case) but still not sorted.

Whats happening is that when i put my SPV in the cradle a "windows installer" dialog/box comes up and it reconfigures Microsoft Outlook 2000. It doesnt however tell me exactly what it is doing :-( only takes a second to configure so cant be doing much. It just wont remember it through to the next boot :-(

thanks for your help btw - all you guys do a dam good job with this site! :) its very much appreciated!
