MPx200 Multimedia files

I'm in the US and just bought my MPx200 today. This is my first Smartphone and enjoying playing with all the functions. When I was doing research on this phone, I read several times that it could play MP3's as well as video using Smartphone 2002's Windows Media Player. To this point, I am unsuccessful getting video to play. Seems Smartphone 2002's WMP doesn't recognize "mpg" or "mpeg".

Any clues...so I need to be trying to play wmv files instead of mpeg's?

Hello & Welcome to the site.

WMP only play WMA video files.

PocketTV and PocketMVP play MPG and DIVX AVI files respectively.

Both are free files that can be downloaded at...

http://www.monolithix.org as well as a ton of other free software for the smartphone.
