the IA Album program can make a microsoft smartphone record short video clips. And it allows you to preview the clip using the same program. Looking at the file properties it saves the video clip as an AVI file. Therefore IA Album is a suggestion 4 playing AVI fvideos.

However encoding to a different resolution might be needed.

Personally I'd recommend PocketMVP for DivX AVI's (Upto version 5.03) or PocketTV for MPEGs. Both have loads of info about them if you do a search on the forum.
