Guest spacemonkey Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Disclaimer: I am in no way involved with the supplier of this product. Anyway, I am frustrated by the slow photo taking etc of the SPV so went for a bit of a hunt. IAstyle who provide the trial photo album software that comes on the flash card are apparently soon to release a new version which has take photo abilities. Check http://www.iastyle.com/smartphone/index.asp Apparently it's currently getting signed by Orange and I'm told will improve the photo taking performance but not completely eliminate the lag as this is due to OS/serial port issues. It's also supposed to be able to take video... so we'll wait and see. I've been suggested a release price of £13 which doesn't sound too horrific. Anyway, I'll be buying it when it comes out and will post comments when I get it. Later
Guest Thurstan Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 sounds great but how will you be able to install it if it's not signed by Orange? Are you on a diff network or ina diff country?

Are you on a diff network or ina diff country? As I said in my original post. It's currently being signed by Orange and will be for sale once that has completed. That will be when I buy it.
Guest mashkhan Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Having followed the link by Spacemonkey, I've noticed in the blurb it says "pictures & video when used in conjunction with IA Capture" therefore one can assume that for the picture/video functionality IA Capture will be required. Does anybody know whether this will be a component of the SPV edition?
Guest spacemonkey Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Having followed the link by Spacemonkey, I've noticed in the blurb it says "pictures & video when used in conjunction with IA Capture" therefore one can assume that for the picture/video functionality IA Capture will be required. Does anybody know whether this will be a component of the SPV edition? Yeah, that was my confusion from their site. So I emailed the guy and asked what the story was. The info I put at the top is from the results of that email. So in summary, he told me that the SPV app will be Orange Signed, cost £13 and include the IA Capture functionality. Specifically it won't completely fix the pause when taking a photo problem but it should be better, and it will also take video. Release dates were not provided and I was told to check back at the site regularly. I imagine they don't have a clear idea themselves of how long it will take Orange to sign the app.
