Guest jojomail Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 "SOUND Tweaks Correctly Looping Ringtones Open the registry editor: HKEY_CURRENT_USERControlPanelSoundsRingTone0 Select 'Values' And modify 'Script' by removing the w3 (eg. change 'av0pw3r' to 'av0pr') " When i change the phone profile (normal to meeting for example), "w3" reappears in the key "script". How can i remove definetely "w3" ?
Guest midnight Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 you have to edit the actual profile, there is a profile hack somewhere in customisation that i made, if you need just the w3 removing and the other profile hack wont work then let me know and i'll make it for you :)
Guest jojomail Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 Ok thanks, i 'm going to create a new profile ...
Guest chauhan_vijay Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 im having the same problem w3 keeps coming back, can someone point me the direction of this profile hack? cheers
Guest jojomail Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 im having the same problem w3 keeps coming back, can someone point me the direction of this profile hack? cheers Finally, i don't create a new profile but modify the existing profile. See the *.prof.xml files in /windows or those in /ipsm/application data/profiles.
Guest NickB&SPV Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 I sync'd the phone to the computer then went into IPSMApplication DataProfiles, then copied out the profile e.g Normal to My Documents on the computer. Open up the xml in word pad and edit the 3 to 0, save it and copy back to the phone. This worked for me even when changing profiles. :)
Guest chauhan_vijay Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 i cant see anything in my profiles folder, it appears to be empty....... :? vijay
Guest jojomail Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 i cant see anything in my profiles folder, it appears to be empty....... :? vijay That's because you have not modified the default parameters of the profile. For example, the default "normal" profile is in /windows ans is called normal.def.prof.xml If you modify the default parameters in "normal" profile, a file named normal.prof.xml is created in /ipsm/application data/profiles.
Guest NickB&SPV Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 I never had to alter anything in the Windows file because the profile XML's were already in IPSMApplication DataProfiles folder. Anyway any thing that is modified in the Windows folder will be removed after a re-boot. The only thing to try is to copy the Normal profile file from the windows folder to the Profiles folder in the IPSMApplication Data and edit it then replace the edited file back to the same folder, then it will stay the same after a re-boot. :)
Guest chauhan_vijay Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 hi i dont have the normal.def.prof.xml in the windows folder either and now I have the problem of all of my sounds changing to Alarm1 and a few random ones to Alarm2. Any ideas..........
Guest Pagemakers Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 you have to edit the actual profile, there is a profile hack somewhere in customisation that i made, if you need just the w3 removing and the other profile hack wont work then let me know and i'll make it for you :) Mid, where's this profile hack you talk about? I have done a search but still can't find it. It would be cool if somebody could write a Profile Editor for SmartPhone to save all the hassle of manually removing the w3 on the PC- Stevekay are you listening  For those of you that don't know the loop gets lost when you change profiles.
Guest NickB&SPV Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Hi, Take a look at this topic Here This is what I have followed and the loop survives when you change profile and re-boot. :)
Guest Pagemakers Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Cheers - Shame there wasn't an profiles editor phone app to this for you.
Guest midnight Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 the actual ringtone hack can be found here
