Guest TANKERx Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Hi, I use Mobipocket Reader with the SPV and have the ASV, NASV, Matthew Henry Commentary and Strongs all on one Memory card. :-)
Guest szvpvp Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 What I have found to be about the best is from http://www.olivetree.com Here you can get the Readers and the Books. S how did you installed the bible reader on your SPV? I cannot complete installation, i guess the installer failed to detect the device.
Guest mark8barnes Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 You need to go to http://www.olivetree.com/beta/SmartPhone.html to download the software, and then http://www.itb.net/handheld/free/ for the Bibles.
Guest adi116 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Thanks a lot mark8barnes! I've already copied BibleReader_SmartPhone.exe in the Storage Card. I tested it, but as I've executed the program, the screen displays: PalmLauncherBible-Nkjv.pdb. I've downloaded Bible-Web.pdb, unzip the pdb file, and copied it in the same folder, but still, this error "PalmLauncherBible-Nkjv.pdb" keeps on appearing on my screen. The site says it can open any olive tree database as long as it begins with "Bible". Help me please, I really want to have a bible reader with the functionality offered by this olive tree software. I think it is the best Bible reader available - far much better than the HTML or Data Viewer versions, aside of course of being a freeware. Thanks in advance! God Bless us all:D
Guest almark Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Going to have a go, and I'll update you.
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I don't know whether to piss myself laughing, or just snicker obnoxiously. You guys must be joking! FFS! The daily rude comment from sleepnow75 I take it
Guest sleepnow75 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Sorry, It was wrong to post anything here because it can be a sensitive subject. I find religion (aka coping strategy) a totally ridiculous in this day and age, but it does have its place (for the weak minded). It should looked at like Santa Clause - just for the young'uns. Use the scare tactics of religion to teach young people morals and values, and then grow out of it. It is cool that you have the ability now to keep all your bible info right there in your phone where you need it most. Nice one.
Guest Qman Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 Help. anyone please? The only way I got it to work for me was to create a My DocumentsBible folder in the main Smartphone directory, copied Bible-Web.pdb into it and renamed it Bible-Nkjv.pdb. In your case you would create a PalmLauncher folder instead, Strange! HTH Qman...
Guest adi116 Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 @sleepnow75 I dont want to comment in your belief. I'll just pray that God would touch your life so that you would know He is real. No offense meant. God bless us all!
Guest sleepnow75 Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 Not bl**dy likely. And if he did, I would sit down and have a pint with him, and tell him quite honestly that he's a failure, and that he should be ashamed of himself. But that was nice of you to say just the same! Cheers.
Guest McHale Posted January 22, 2004 Report Posted January 22, 2004 ...tell him quite honestly that he's a failure, and that he should be ashamed of himself. I thought the same thing when I read your post. How could he let Mother Theresa die and you live? What was he thinking?
Guest c0ntrite Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Download BibleReader for smartphone here: http://www.olivetree.com/beta/BibleReader_..._SmartPhone.zip Then upload the EXE file to your phone. Phone memory or storage card, doesnt matter where you put it. Just make sure to create a shortcut at the start menu. Download Bibles here (make sure you download the zip file NOT the exe): http://www.olivetree.com/handheld/products/index.html Then create a folder named Bible either on: /IPSM/My Documents/ or /Storage Card/My Documents/ it should look like this: /IPSM/My Documents/Bible or /Storage Card/My Documents/Bible unzip the downloaded bible then get the PDB file (for example on ASV get Bible-Asv.pdb, usually the one you really need is the largest pdb file) then upload it to the Bible folder. BibleReader will automatically detect the file
Guest sleepnow75 Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 I thought the same thing when I read your post. How could he let Mother Theresa die and you live? What was he thinking? And that about sums it up, McHale. "How could he(?)" The whole concept of this "supernatural being" being a man makes no logical sense, but we won't question that... "He(?)" "let" Mother Theresa die huh? So she didn't just die because thats what every living thing inevitably does, I see now... Mother Theresa, FFS. Its your way of thinking that explains why we see so many 300-400 year old people walking around (because they were good), and why babies are sometimes born dead (because they were bad) - among other contradicting things. Now I gotcha. Clever. Let it go, this is the wrong place for this topic of discussion.
Guest McHale Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 Hey, this is NOT the place to promote your atheist views. If you don't belive in God, fine. But don't come here and continue to push your point. It doesn't help anyone, it isn't welcome, and has *NOTHING* to do with the current topic or even the forum. In case you haven't noticed, nobody has jumped on your support bandwagon. I'm sure there are those out there who disbelieve like you do, but it is well beyond "off topic." There *ARE* forums for atheists to pat themselves on the back. Go there if you want to continue with that rhetoric. Don't do it here... -Mc
