Guest jason76 Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 just out of contract ,yipee!. what do you guys recomend a mpx200 or a e200, loved the spv, but like the small design of the mpx200 and is it faster.
Guest willo Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 I'm more tempted by the moto purely because of its form, it small (well smallish  ) and its a good looking beast. Whereas the E200 has bluetooth and a built in camera, also it has WM2003k software. Its a tough one.
Guest jason76 Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 have you seen the vid of the dog taken with the e200 it's ok but not great don't know how much I whould use the camera, but bluetooth would be nice..
Guest deanrh Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 i have had the same problem deciding, my contract is up on the 24th november. but i think i am swayed by the moto cos of its sleekness, and i dont have a big need 4 bluetooth-its just nice 2 have if u have got it. personally i dont like the look of the back of the e200, i reckon the camera housing design makes it look a bit strange/ugly. also i have heard that there might be a possibility to upgrade to wm2k3 on the moto. goinuts has posted the stuff i think. search 4 "windows mobile 2003 on mpx200". Dean
Guest deanrh Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 also i have 2 add that the moto is very quick, i saw a video on zdnet and some microsoft guy was demoing it 2 a mobilephone journalist and it looked so fast. one more thing, u can make ur phone screen look like wm2k3 by getting the jpg image 4 the default homescreen which i think is superswish. and i u can skin the mnedia player 2 make it look like WM9.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 I can't see the point of the Moto: No camera No Bluetooth Same old 132MHz chip running Smartphone 2002 Looks the same as a Panasonic GD87 without an aerial Admittedly I wouldn't jump at an E200, but it has: Camera Bluetooth Same old 132MHz chip running Windows Mobile 2003 (alledgedly quicker) Looks the more-or-less the same as an E100
Guest tormod Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 just a quick commit.. the qtek 8080 (e200) has the same pros but is realy a lot faster because mutch better hw.. -I haven't tried it yet, but have this from a verry good source.. he has tried the phone for weeks now.. best regards tormod Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest deanrh Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 the moto has the form factor though, as i said there is a possibility that u can upgrade 2 wm2k3. i have no major need 4 bluetooth or a camera as i rarely usee mms. there the moto is 4 me. finally i have answered my own quetion. yippee
Guest morpheus2702 Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 The Moto looks like a toilet seat when closed...
Guest kmon Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 The Moto looks like a toilet seat when closed... sounds like you don't want either moto or e200 which phone you hanging for morpeus2702? Or waiting to see what phone is the coolest/being plugged in the next matrix installment?!!
Guest deanrh Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 u cant wait forever morpheous, the moto is the dogs
Guest markhammill Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 I was going to get the e200 until I read the MPx200 review on coolsmartphone.com today. Bluetooth would be nice but I'm not fussed bout the camera on the e200. How do you look after it if you can't put it down on the front or back? The paint job on my SPV was really poor it chips off really quickly. So I think a good quality finish would be nice for a change. I would deffinatelly want the 2003 update for the moto but I have no doubt that even if it isn't released there will be a copy that will run on it soon.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 E-200/Mpx200....both excellent phones. Depends what your after really. A camera is a nice feature to have and the mpx could still have one (talk of a clip-on) - personally BT aint a big thing for me.A wireless laptop connection would be nice though. What I would love to hear would be that the mpx could run WM2k3. However, talk of the mpx220 tells us that a similar design to that of the 200 will be brought out february time. It allegedly incorprates WM2k3, bluetooth, camera, everything you'd expect in a smartphone. Could be worth waiting for... spacecowboy

Guest morpheus2702 Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 People wanting to know which phone I want? Simple, I choose neither! The Moto is missing too many features to consider. The E200 peaks my curiousity but I'm not laying out the cash this side of Christmas for what is essentially a suped-up E100! Gimme a 1.6 update that gets rid of the egg-timer, lets me connect to GPRS and then lets see what's about in the spring. By all accounts the MPx220 is sounding good... I just hope it looks like the V600 - and not a toilet!
Guest blewer Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 Now that prices are being talked about, lets see if any opinions have changed  Maybe a hard decision if there is a chance of a free upgrade
Guest Honest John Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 The Moto looks like a toilet seat when closed... Trying to pass as a bog standard phone, no doubt!
Guest goinnuts Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 answer is simple tomorrow im gettin both
Guest deanrh Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 tell us what what u think of them both and which u would use more? cheers. dean.
Guest skinheadjc Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 :D You CAN now get a camera for the Mpx 200works through the SD slot which means you can't take pictures/video and store the directly to the sd card, so theres a limmit to how many pictures you can take. i've got one and it works ok (check out the acessories section of the Moto web site).
Guest kevlar Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 I have an E200 and can recommend it if you want; a phone with terrible call quality a phone which drops the connection to bluetooth headset regularly has a nastly sd card access bug takes terrible photos answers calls via the joystick while in your pocket even when locked and 'answer anykey ' disabled Has no diagonals on joystick has terrible sound quality on some older spv games needs charging everyday etc etc etc Kevlar
