Guest Smartphoner Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 Hello, I was planning to buy an Orange SPV E200, but as I don't want a SIM-locked phone, I've read I should go for the QTek 8080 wich is already unlocked. Is that right? What are all the differences between the E200 and the QTek 8080? What am I going to be missing if I buy the QTek 8080? Thanks a lot!!
Guest [email protected] Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 The Qtek hasn't got anything carrier related, like backup function, settings configured in rom etc. Otherwise i believe they're identical.
Guest Smartphoner Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 Thanks a lot Malte! Do you/anybody know what those ROM settings of the E200 are? Are they any interesting? Can I use that E200 backup function if I use a different carrier SIM? Thanks again!
Guest [email protected] Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 Handsets released by carriers usually come pre-configured to their network, e.g. Internet connection settings. I think the Orange backup function (not E200 backup) backs up the contacts stored on your SIM and is a carrier function.
Guest Smartphoner Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 Many thanks again. Now I think I'll go for the QTek.
