Guest toadvox Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 I'm due to upgrade my SPV in a month and I want an E200. I've got a dilemma though...... Do you pay Orange to upgrade your phone for a very high price, or do you cancel your contract and take out a new one and get the phone cheap? If I cancel my contract with Orange, can I keep my number (which I've had for years, and as I understand it belongs to me?!) and then put it back on Orange with the new contract? Any ideas :?:
Guest Emad Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 I don't think you can.. I have the same sort of problem - as I mention here: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=95387 Virgin OVP looks like being a good bet, but I'm not sure about call forwarding from that.. The number is the networks property I believe :)
Guest glynton Posted November 5, 2003 Report Posted November 5, 2003 You rent the line (number) number from them

Do you pay Orange to upgrade your phone for a very high price, or do you cancel your contract and take out a new one and get the phone cheap? We charge same prices for upgrades and new connections where the price is relational to the tarif your on. Eg, price for upgrade of a customer on your plan 200 would be same price as a new connection on a your plan 200, same for say a lower tarrif such as your plan 30. If I cancel my contract with Orange, can I keep my number (which I've had for years, and as I understand it belongs to me?!) and then put it back on Orange with the new contract? Any ideas :?: If you can start a new contract on the same network with your old number also from that network then what exactly is an upgrade, jeez im sure people dont think their questions through before asking them!
Guest glynton Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 I'm sorry but in my experience 'Upgrades' are always more expensive than a new connection
Guest amo Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 My coment was refering to the second part of the question
