hi!

could you please add a SEPARATE FORUM for each model of ms martphone:

Motorola MPx200

Tanager (SPV E100, Qtek 7070)

Voyager (SPV E200, Qtek 8080)

Compal AR11

Voq

MiTAC 8380

MiTAC 8390

etc.

it is VERY VERY important to have totally separate forum for each model. Could you?

I think calling it a mistake is a bit strong.

And if you look here you'll see that Paul is one step ahead as usual :)

Cheers

It is something I am thinking about, as you can see... I'm one step ahead of you ;-)

I will probably have the following areas:

Compal AR11 (Microsoft Developer Phone)

HTC Canary / Tanager Variants (SPV, E100, iMate, SAP etc. etc.)

HTC Voyager Variants (E200, Qtek 8080)

Motorola MPx200

MiTAC Mio 8380

Future Phones (Voq Professional Phone, MiTAC Mio 8390 etc.)

Why is it a mistake ??

Anyway... to err is but human :) .. unlike some people who think they are robots

You're absolutely right

I MUCH prefer the way your forums are organised

It's not a mistake, primarily because up until now, there hasn't been enough types of phones to have that kind of layout!

also, beware of segregation, mpx200, spv, e100, imate, qtek 7070 etc are all basically the same os, so unless its a hardware issue, bugs, fixes etc. should be roughly the same, this would cause repeat answers to problems in each of the threads, which could be hard to keep track of if not carefull.

lame excuse. certainly it would be good for users.

I didnt' say that it would be good for forum moderators.

huh? what you on? you been on the liquorice allsorts again?

it keeps the forum structure, if its a software issue its relevant for ALL hardware (most of the time), not just one device

just a tip: in phpBB you can create sub-categories - so that from main "Forum" level you could see just one position, for example: "Smartphone hardware - various models" and there one sub-forum for each model.

do what you want folks, I just told you what would be better for end users. It is a mistake not to create subforums dedicated to each model.

I'm sure they will, they've managed quite well so far without your guidance

I just told you what would be better for end users.

In your not-so-humble opinion

It is a mistake not to create subforums dedicated to each model.

Oh thank you wise and mighty gobshite!

Am I allowed to tell him to feck off? I'm sure a mod will edit this if I'm not, or if I'm out of line.

Hardware specific forums have been in the pipeline, way before this post, and they're now up, for a test period.

Let's see how it goes...
