Guest mike8109 Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 I went to the orange shop today, and found the MPX200 which provided by the orange is running the 2003 OS, i also asked the staff about the this, he told me it;s ture. what a good new!!! i hope is not a just mistake.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 As much as I'd like to believe this - it cant be right - not now anyway. I mean if the sales assistants are saying this then its a possibility they will run on WM2k3, its got the ram... spacecowboy
Guest amo Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 It is a smartphone 2002 edition I beleive, I have seen on the microsoft website that it is refered to as being 2003, guess this is just an example of the lack of training heh
Guest FrankyG Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 Yeah, i was in an Orange shop and had a look at the Moto, it was still attached to the backing display plastic which had Smartphone 2003 written on it. I told the rep that this was incorrect, he said '........' blank look  lol BTW, the Moto IS a very nice handset. it's one of those devices which has a great 'feel' factor about...which I can't say about the SPV form. It's taste, I know, but when you get your paws on it it's hard to put it down :)
Guest Pagemakers Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 The moto is also available on UK Voda.
Guest davy Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 The moto is also available on UK Voda. Link please, davy.
Guest Pagemakers Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 In the November CPW mag page 19. Orange £79, Voda £149
Guest kingdom master Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 its 2002 however it is capable of running 2003 and i have seen a model running it. but it was slower than u would expect. due to lack or mem, tom
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 Lack of memory? That makes no sense, since the MPx200 is running exactly the same spec as the e200. P
Guest midnight Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 heheh  the hardware spec of the mpx and the e200 is practically identical (err, except bluetooth and camera of course), but i mean proc., and mem ;)
Guest lutzh Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 and what do this specs tell you (found on windowsmobiletrainig.com)? see, you never know untill YOU KNOW! cheers, lutz
Guest Emad Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 Um.. Those specs tell you nothing really? It could have 2003 upgraded. Who knows? Isn't the mem identical for e200 and mpx?
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 Yeh...32mb I was told/thought. What processor is this running. Can that affect the memory it uses. Im guessing its ARM :?: spacecowboy
Guest Emad Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 I believe the MPx200 runs the same processor as the spv/e100. The battery life is far greater though as it doesn't need as much while closed. It also has a 1 week backup battery for when the main one runs out to prevent data loss.
Guest [email protected] Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 lutzh: How do you use windowsmobiletraining.com? I log on with .NET account but get nothing in the menues.
Guest lutzh Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 hi malte you have to signup first (after passport login). but its not really something you have to have. nothing on there that we dont already know or get informed about here much earlier. the latest news on the server is the introducion of "Motorola/Microsoft Alliance". i guess we can already buy the outcome of it... cheers, lutz
Guest andypandy Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I read in an ad somewhere that the MPX200 was ugradeable to smartphone 2003...
