Guest markjoanne Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Please help!! When I turn on my spv, it just locks on the sunset screen. Any ideas what to do to get it to work??
Guest Brody Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Hard reset sounds like your only option assuming you have let your phone sit on the sunset screen for a while to ensure that its not starting up..? Be warned though, a Hard reset restores the phone to its "out of the box" state" so you will lose all of your settings, backup you contacts, and calender by syncing with Outlook and do a search for SMS 2 Mail to convert your SMS messages to e-mails so that they can be sync'ed accross to your PC as well.
Guest gingepie Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Does anyone here have any ideas as to why this happens, or how it can be prevented? I have had the same thing happen to me today, and am not impressed. I use my phone an awful lot, and can not afford for this to happen on a regular basis.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Could be that you are letting the battery level get to low causing the phone to crash.
Guest gingepie Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 That can't be, as the phone was plugged (via USB) into my comp at work charging all the time, so when I removed it from the cable, it was fully charged. I ran a program (PocketMVP I think) and the program locked, so I held the power key and the phone turned off. When I held the power key again to turn the phone back on, all I got was the sunset screen.
Guest cleandemon Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I had the same problem this morning and I honestly did nothing out of the ordinary to my E100. I haven't messed with anything for days and it was working fine yet when I came to switch on this morning it hung. Any pointers as to what can have caused it?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Other causes can be running dodgy software which makes the phone appear to lock up so you remove the battery etc. Or just pulling the battery can cause it as you are not allowing the phone to shut down and save it's information properly..
Guest davo141 Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 helo, just wondeing how i do a hard reset as my phone isalso sticking on the sunset screen. Chees, davo
Guest davo141 Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 i now know how to do that, but it gets to the bootloader but the sceen stays white...ie no options to choos to reset. cheers, davo
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Normally you get a white screen only if you have the dummy plastic card used as pacaging in the slot instead of a proper storage card :) Just checking you are letting go of the action button once you see the white screen?
