Guest bapp336 Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Does anyone know what the latest position is regarding the controlling of the backlight. I`ve read a few threads / forums but havent found any positive answer to say if its in hand. Is there software being written as we speak? Love to know where we are with this as this backlight issue is the only gripe I have with the spv. Other than that best phone i`ve bourght so far! Regards 10,000 Lemmings Can`t Be Wrong :) :( :D
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 What backlight problem are you refering to? If you mean keeping the back light on, that can be down to the way apps have been written.
Guest Richie M Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 The only way to do it yourself atm is in Settings/Power Management and set Backlight Timeout to Never. There is a reg setting (not sure what it is) that some programs like PocketMVP changes so it doesn't timeout. Also i know an app is in development to do this for you :)
Guest JoelRae Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 maybe this stroke of genius will help you out
Guest kyrkesmith Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 I've spent ages trying to figure it, and the best I can do with respect to the registry settings is this. MSN Messenger seems to over-rule what you've set in the registry, which is annoying, as you usually want the backlight on to see your messages as they arrive. Not that it's working at the moment anyway.
