SIM unlocks can be done the day you buy them directly from Orange. They need you to pay the entire contract off upfront and charge you £20, though...

The phone isn't software-locked.

So if I buy the E200 on Orange Pay As You Go they'll never unlock it for me? there isn't a contract I can pay in advance... and I'm guessing they won't give it unlocked for all the PAYG costumers - unless they'll only charge 20GBP? can someone check it out please?

I believe they charge the £20, but don't quote me on it - I'd check with Orange before buying to make sure you aren't stuck with a permanently locked phone...

The E200 is not software locked, it just shows a warning when installing uncerted software, like Win XP does..
