Guest supermatelot Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Could somebody please help me,Ive accidentally deleted some files whilst my spv was connected to my pc,I think they were in the MAP1 folder. As a result, when I try to turn on my fone it just freezes on the sunset startup picture.I have tried to re-install the UK update but this is impossible as I can no longer connect via activsync.Thankyou
Guest Brody Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Hmm, i thought the MAPI folder was just email attachments etc? Have you tried a Hard Reset?
Guest supermatelot Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Thanks, think you saved my life-should be able to retrieve girlfriends number now :) Couldnt manage to hard reset but at least my pc detects the fone from the bootloader screen.Hopefully, the upgrade will sort it.thanks!
Guest Brody Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 I should have said that as well! I've often heard of updates being possible from the bootloader screen, a good bit of advise for anyone having difficulties...
Guest supermatelot Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 It didnt work-the update installed but upon startup it wont go any further than the sunset screen.Tried the hard reset but i cant seem to get it to work,I followed the instructions...turned on whilst holding voice record button, then i held down the joystick for 2 secs,it just says press any key to enter bootloader, then when i pressed 8 it just goes to the 3 colour screen-Im really lost now!any ideas??
Guest Brody Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Hold in the action button until you see a list of options, forget the 2 second rule you speak of, just hold it until you see the menu...
Guest supermatelot Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 ok-just trying the update one more time..will hard reset lose all my stored numbers?
Guest Brody Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 Yes, have u backed them up in Outlook on your PC? If so then they will be copied back to the phone when you next sync it...
Guest Brody Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 10 minutes on MSN Messenger and one saved Smartphone :) Enjoy supermatelot!
