Guest a z n A6 b o y Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I used nwec's instructions to unloc my mio but i didn't no that it would remove my chinese input so is there anyway i can revert bac to the original mitac rom and use the official unlocing?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 As far as I'm aware the original ROM is not available. As each Mitac came with the ROM so technically there is not a reason for Mitac to release it to the public.
Guest howe Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 so the question would be whether it is possible for chinese input without the original rom? anyone have the answer? i'm curious too... coz i just noticed also...
Guest nickcornaglia Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I believe the chinese input wasn't on the phone itself out of the box but rather on the disk #2 in a program called cstar. Is that not right?
Guest sabio_proeliat Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I think it's on the phone itself and on a disc. Because I did an upgrade of the rom and when I started the phone without SD card "it" asked me if I wanted to install cstar.
Guest howe Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 ok... i got a question... you know how when you press the # key for a extended period and it goes to the symbols selection page... after installing cstar... the chinese input keeps popping up... so.. how do i input my symbols from here on?
Guest a z n A6 b o y Posted November 19, 2003 Report Posted November 19, 2003 ok problem solved....i just reinstalled the cstar program on the factory sd card and everything works fine now.
Guest howe Posted November 19, 2003 Report Posted November 19, 2003 so anyone know how to input the symbols? after cstar has been installed?
