Guest dj_smilee Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Ok, i dont know if anyone has posted anything about this, but my first bill just dropped through the door. I joined with the 120minute and 30 text package and unlimited GPRS. So they've charged me for half the first month and second in advance as i expected. As i was wondering my eyes over the page, i stopped at the inclusive GPRS usage, 60mb YES 60mb in TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hmmm, at 2 pence/kb that works out at approximately £1228 but it said it was all inclusive, my bill alltogether about £48 MAN i love orange :D
Guest chewie Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Wait until april when your free GPRS runs out
Guest mashkhan Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 After April I will be disabling my GPRS altogether. At the extortionate prices of Oranges GPRS packages I can't imagine there would be to many takers.
Guest muude Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 How much do you guys pay per MB??? It sounds a lot more expensive than in Denmark....
Guest DubWhiZZ Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 The following link details Orange UK's GPRS costs. http://www.orange.co.uk/talkplans/gprs/costs.html Please post similar for Denmark if you know where to find it, it'd be quite interesting. Matt
Guest sebset Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 With Orange France we pay 6 Euros for 10Mb/month. The counting is made by inseparable units of 10Kb.
Guest muude Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 We have no special bundles that I've heard of. I just pay 25 DKR/ 2£/ 3€ per MB (aprox in £ and €)
Guest Lojt Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 yeah Denmark sucks, but at least we get free MMS for the first couple months :D
Guest kevlar Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 That's cheap, orange charge £8 per mb in uk. This is ridiculously high, and after the trial period, I can see the only people still paying for it will be buisness people. I will probably still pay the minimum £4, just for emails though. Kevlar

Kevlar That's not quite right Kevlar, Their out of bundle price is £4/MB which I agree is still far too high, But with Bundled prices you can get it well down on that, 30MB works out at £1.56/MB I also think these prices will come down further after Xmas, And I believe Vodaphone are charging even more! :D 0.5 Mb £4.00 5 Mb £15.00 10 Mb £25.00 15 Mb £30.00 30 Mb £47.00 50 Mb £58.75 100 Mb £111.63 500 Mb £528.75 GPRS costs £4 per MB
Guest Treadsoftly Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I have been informed that the people at Orange are dscussing this issue presently. They don't want people mothballing their SPVs come April time, and going back to using their Nokias for calls only. I agree with you - I will be cutting my usage down severely if current tariffs stay the way they are come April time. goodbye Messenger, Goodbye web, goodbye email, hello WAP over GPRS for 4£ a month. We can see there are new tariffs being unrolled from whats going on with GPRS on the Orange PAYG arm. I believe that Orange will in all probability come up with another SPV prmotional tariff for GPRS come April. Probably not as generous as the current one though.
Guest timmillwood Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I just got my bill through today and it said nowhere how manu MB i had used and they charged me my GPRS time as Wap so i phoned up and spoke to billing, i have to phone back later and speak to wireless data. In april they havent decided yet what they are doing, but i dont think they will just charge normal GRPS prices that is tooooo.... much. I think it will be a special GPRS package for SPVS
