Divx 5.0.3 Download Link - Has anyone got one?

Hi

It's been mentioned in several other threads throughout Modaco, but despite a couple of hours searching, clicking links, trying Google I can not find a working link to download DivX 5.0.3 in order to convert movies to work with PocketMVP. A lot of the links found on Google say 5.0.3, but then point to the latest version on www.divx.com, which is 5.1

Is DivX 5.0.3 still the only version PocketMVP can support or has PocketMVP been upgraded recently to work with a higher version of DivX?

Has anyone got the file they can post to Modaco or pm me the file so I can start my movie conversion for entertainment on the move?

I've successfully converted a movie to MPG for PocketTV, but I wanted to see the quality of AVI in PocketMVP to see which is the best.

Any help on finding this link greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Mark

Yeah, I'm still looking, hoping its on a CD somewhere. But for now, the best bet is to use the 5.0 variant. That AFAIK, works fine on PocketMVP as well. But as I've said before, as soon as anyone can send me the file I'll be quite happy to host it for all to download it!

N'ah that won't work unless people actually pay for a Pro licence. Hell, I have the 5.03 Pro Bundle, I just don't seem to have the free 5.03 Bundle. And I ain't EVER going to support ad-ware.

So, if somebody can find it (I'll try P2P this weekend) and E-Mail it me I'll be happy to post it, but until then, nothings doing I'm afraid...

Thanks Emad. Got this, tried it and worked OK.

However, if I use the decimate by 3 setting as suggested in Media Encoding FAQ using VirtualDUB I get severe distortion on some parts of the video. Has anyone else experienced this? If I don't use this setting the video converts successfully, but isn't capable of playing on my E100. It plays the sounds great, but the picture is either VERY stuttery or just static completely.

Assuming you're using the bit-rates suggested there shouldn't be any major hassles. The problem you're experiencing though maybe an artifact from the 5.0 codec (I remember it not liking weird frame rates). My suggestion is to currently sit tight. Hopefully I'll post the codec up over the weekend.

Cheers siu99spj. Am waiting with anticipation. However, I tried a couple of the other video compression alternatives as well and similar things were happening during the conversion. I have a 3ivx codec installed and tried that and also tried the Windows MPEG4 Video Codec 1 and got similar problems.

I must admit that I have not been using the batch method suggested except for last night, but I had the frame rate set at "Convert All" last night, hence the frozen video in the resulting E100 playback. Perhaps I'll try the two-pass batch method with the suggested settings and see what comes out.

Well 5.0.3 is now up. Check my FAQ guide for the URL (Link).

Got it, downloaded it, tried it, used it. Ideal. Just what I needed. Movie conversions work fine now. I've now got "Buffy - Once More With Feeling" travelling with me wherever I go!
