ORANGE EMBLAZE MEDIA PLAYER PROBLEMS

i just downloaded orange media (u know the emblaze one) and i have one question..........how the hell is it to be used?????? :oops: it installed correctly :lol: but when i open it and click on browse nothing comes up :evil:

anyone else having the same problem as me or is it just me??? :?: :?: :?:

Do a search for "Emblaze" on this site - sorry, I don't know how to do links... :?

There's been plenty of discussion but not much that is positive. Its apparently a Swiss release for mpg4 files - something for the future perhaps.

Also you could try looking at www.emblaze.com which is quoted in peoples' posts. I'm off for a look myself.. :lol:

I downloaded this too but never got it to work either!

Then PocketMusic came out - and deleted Emblaze was!

I understand that the Orange Emblaze Player was pre-installed on the original SPV in Switzerland only.

My brother lives there and married to a Swiss person tells me that the video clips work ok. Fps rate and picture quality could do with some improvement but he says would probably be much better on a SPV E200.

Elsewhere the Alphacell M5 handset was discussed. This also has a faster processor then the SPV 100 and uses the Emplaze system (embedded on the chip?). Interesting to find out if, in the end, has anyone managed to buy one of these handsets and what the video performance is like...

Not going to buy a new mobile until it can do 'singing and dancing' Dobe dobe dodoo.!

As far as I am aware the emblaze player was just for Switzerland, but with Emblaze announcing deals with Optimus ( orange portugal ) and WIND ( orange Italy ) I would be interested to know if you can use it in those countries. :?:

Also, with new smartphones being launched in Switzerland, UK and France next week I will be interested to see if you can use it in those countries :!:

Apparantly there's an article on Mobile Media mag. of 7th Nov which says:

'Cellco Orange has selected video technology vendor PacketVideo to provide the technology for its forthcoming mobile video launch. Orange is understood to be taking the wraps off its mobile video plans in mid-November. Separately, PacketVideo has also hit it big with vendor Motorola, which features the PV player on its A920 devices.'

I hav'nt seen this magazine myself but my source assures me that the above appeared.

Have visited the Packetvideo site and notice that they've been taken over recently by Alcatel.

Anyone using Packetvideo software and care to comment on the vid quality..?

There is a error in this post.

Optimus is a portuguese enterprise and are not "Orange Portugal".

The Orange Telecom have some agreements and hold shares of the portuguese enterprise (25%). The Emblaze player works in my phone. The enterprise was born in portugal and had a green logo, but whith the agreements and "hold shares" the logo was changed to range color.
