I guess I'll just have to sell my Tanager so I can pay for the pre-termination fee of P7,000 and get a new Plan and a free Voyager :D

VOYAGER VS. XDA2

May discussion na ba on comparisons between Voyager vs. XDA2?  Ano kaya mas maganda. Alam ko 400 mhz ang xda2 compared sa voyager na 132mhz lang ata......

XDA2 if you want a convergence device....a PocketPC and Phone in one. But for me, since I already got a PPC, I need the Voyager only as I want two separate devices, and I think I would do better texting sms using my fingers instead of a stylus :D

I agree with dinoalbert... moreso pag nasa car ka, SMS-ing with a stylus is cumbersome. :D

Question... I've heard around that they're going to market the XDA II as a free unit on some plans? verify lang.

Here is the cost of the SAP2 for a retention plan (24 months lock-in period), based on the matrix that they gave to me when I inquired about it in a Smart Wireless Center. I don't know the other conditions when you still have existing contract with them. According to the customer care officer, these prices are valid until the end of July 2004.

Plan 500 - 13,800.00

Plan 600 - 13.100.00

Plan 800 - 11,600.00

Plan 1200 - 8,900.00

Plan 1800 - 5,500.00

Plan 2500, 3500 and 5000 - FREE

cheap lang yung plans but i'm sure na mataas ang mga requirements niyan. i mean, ung income and all that crap.

sabi ko na nga ba,kylangan malaki ang salary bracket para ma-approve,eh.this very same thing happened nung in-offer nila ang tanager for plan 800.

plan 800 din nila offer ngayon yung voyager... pero i think walang stock ang smart ngayon or they're just holding on to the unit for this 1 week promo :roll:

Sana may lumabas din na ganitong promo sa subscriber retention program...

Kaya lang 18 months ang kailangan to qualify for the retention program di ba? Eh 16 months pa lang ako sa current contract...

Nakakalungkot, interesado pa naman ako sa XDA2...pero syempre, dapat libre na!

@matanglawin, ako din 16 months palang....what Im gonna do is get the SAP2 for free at plan 1200, terminate my current account, but I have to sell first my SAP for an amount enough for me to pay for the pre-termination plan.

the only downside to this is bago na naman ang mobile number ko :D

so parang mag-upgrade lang ako ng phone ko from SAP to SAP2 without spending a single centavo. Yun nga lang, aside from having a new number, madagdagan na naman ang contract ko.

IMO, I guess its better than waiting for my 2-year contract to finish, which will be on March 2005...and if I will get a new plan by that time, magiging hanggang March 2007 ang contract. Whereas kung ngayo ng July 2004 ako mag-avail, until July 2006 nalang ang contract ko :D

And if I wait naman for my 18th month and avail of their customer-retention program, by that time kase, hindi rin natin malalaman kung anong promo ang Smart meron by that time....baka (or defintiely) may dagdag na cashout pa na hindi natin alam kung magkano. Pwede rin you can sell your SAP so you can have something to pay for the cashout.

As I see it, the only advantage ng customer-retention program is that you can maintain your curent number :wink:

@lonerjam,

yup, Plan 800...pero kulang kse sa akin ang 800 :D ...dapat plan 1200. I know I can get the XDA with that plan, pero ayoko ng 3-years contract masyadong matagal....mahirap yan lalo na pag mahilig ka magpalit lagi ng gadgets.

si matanglawin ibig sabihin nun gamit nya SAP nya using GPRS nung nag-post sya

lonerjam, depende rin kung gaano ka kadalas/kalakas gumamit ng gprs....kung bihira lang naman ok lang. Basta ang charge sa gprs P0.25 per kb.

@lonerjam

your gprs consumption will be much lower if you do not download images...importante lang naman sa akin yung teksto na binabasa ko. punta ka sa option ng internet explorer, unmark "show pictures" under general options...suggestion lang po. :D
