Guest gsr264 Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 For the sake of saving memory on my SD card what is the most economical way to have video & audio stored on my phone? I currently use Windows media encoder to set to convert video to -WM MPEG-4 VIDEO 3 (think divx would be smaller?) -Frame rate set at 8 -Interval at 2 -buffer at 3 and Audio -20kbps, 22khz, mono For making normal mp3's even smaller i'm using Nero wave editor to save them as 18kbps mp3s. I'll only be listening to them out of the speakerphone speaker. The quality is ok for stand up comedy(my fave) but not for music from the speaker on my mpx200 ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO SQUEEZE FILES A LITTLE SMALLER?? Best I could do is Forrest Gump at 99mg. Thanks for the help, you guys rock.
Guest siu99spj Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 I'm not sure how much smaller you could make the video files (Forrest Gump down to 99MB is about as good as you'll get realistically). However, if you're willing to install PocketMVP to your phone, you could use OGG encoding for your audio. Thats offers good quality at low bit rates. But as always, its a compromise between space and quality.
Guest gsr264 Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 How big do you think a full screen Divx version of forrest gump be? I may switch to divx if it's comparable just to have the full screen...
Guest Taste Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 Do you have music in mp3 format or wma? And what's the easiest way to do this? Currently, my 256 MB is packed full with large mp3's which is a waste of the space...
Guest Brody Posted November 15, 2003 Report Posted November 15, 2003 wma's are smaller for the same quality audio as they require a lower bit rate. Posted from my SmartPhone!
