Develop this for me - I will pay!

Can anyone develop a VERY SIMPLE program to delete all the emails in my inbox.

The program should either integrate with the inbox to add a "Delete All" option to the menu or if that is not possible (or too difficult) it could be a stand alone program which when run will automatically delete all the items in the inbox after first asking: "Delete ALL" - "Yes, No".

If you are interested in making this, PM me and we can discuss things further. (PS it will need to work with 2003 as well).

I think a lot of people would really like this app, so as a good incentive, integrate the deletion of all sms in the same app (because otherwise we have one for sms and one for mail), and submit it for the innovation price. This way you can make a lot of money! :wink:

Anyone? I really think a lot of users would really appreciate this app, so you would have a good chance of winning...

You could use Sunnysoft MailCenter for your emails, it's got multiple accounts and you can delete ALL in one go. It also stores all the data on your SD card as well if you want it to.

Nope Simon, don't like that program at all. I just want a 'delete all email' option, nothing more complicated than that. Is it too much to ask?

IA Style Space Maker does this for you. It can delete all emails, SMS, call history, speed dials, voice notes or do the whole damned lot in one swoop! Don't know if this one program is available separately, but it is definitely provided as part of one of their packs, e.g. I bought IA Style Tools which had Space Maker, File Manager and Task Manager.

Nope again, just installed that to my phone and removed it.

To delete emails with IA Space Maker you have to open their program, click menu, select delete all, scroll down to inbox and then choose delete. It's too fiddly and it is bundled with a pile of other stuff I'm not interested in and can't remove from my phone without removing Space Maker.

Also try using it to delete your emails, then do another 'send and receive' and they all come back!!!! It obviously doesn’t delete them from your phone completely.

Imagine the simplicity of this......got 50 emails in your inbox?, select menu, delete all. 2 clicks and they're gone, no messing. This is really what I want.

the fact that all the mails come back has nothing to do with the phone, it just says that they are still on the mailserver.

if you use imap, they will be gone...

If I delete them with the current delete function in the inbox's menu, they do not come back when you do a send and receive and that's using a POP account. They just delete off the server during the next send & receive - perfect!

What's the point of deleting them if they come back again on your next send and receive?

that should be simple enough to write, as mentioned, sms tools does this, so maybe talk to the creators of that to knock up a quick app that just does that

I think Midnight probably meant email the company, rather than just post the request here... there's no guarantee they're going to see it is there?

You could also try looking through the Development forums, find a developer who has posted there and PM or email them. They will probably charge you less than a software house.

I am gutted this feature is not in 2003 but it is so important to me I am prepared to pay a reasonable fee for its development.

Im sure a programmer could knock it up in a few hours.

Only one offer to built this app so far and $1,000 was quoted. Gees, I must be living in cloud cuckoo land. I thought it was a couple of hours work for a competent programmer :shock:

Of all the semi-useless apps we have for the MS Smartphone, I am gob-smacked that nobody has ever developed this. This and a full SIMPLE phone backup that is.

I just checked out IA tools, and indeed there is an option to delete all mail/sms, and they don't come back with me. Joy! :lol:

Have you deleted them, then done a GPRS 'send & receive' after. They come back for me. But that's not the point. I want an easy way to delete all emails with 1 or 2 clicks. I don't want all the other stuff you get with IA.

A simple program that simply asks "delete all?" Selecting 'Yes', empties your inbox and then the program closes. Presto!

I use my phone for business and I get about 100+ emails a day (a lot of spam as well that I don't even open). It's a pain going Menu/4, Menu/4 , Menu/4, Menu/4, Menu/4, Menu/4...wait for phone to catch up.... Menu/4, Menu/4....you get my drift.

Yes, IA is the best so far, but not nearly as good and simple as what I propose (plus the fact my emails still return on my next send & receive when I use IA). Also I don't need the other programs IA Utility installs, they are just taking up space on my phone and can't be deleted separately.

Come on somebody, can you build it for me. I'll even throw in a Christmas Turkey!

Roke, are you using IMAP or POP email. I just re-installed IA and this is what is happening to me. I use POP email.

Using phone only - no PC sync.

1 - Open Inbox

2 - Menu/8 (send & receive)

3 - New email arrives

4 - Launch IA

5 - Menu/Erase Email/In Inbox

6 - Confirm

7 - Go back to Inbox

8 - Menu/8 (send & receive)

9 - All deleted emails come back!!!!!

Can anyone else confirm this to be the case. I notice that when IA deletes emails they do not get placed in the "Deleted Items" folder. Is this why they keep coming back?
