Guest dayloon Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Hi all, A while ago I unlocked my E100 so that I could use my O2 simcard. After the unlock I installed i-mate on it. I now want to use my orange sim card & install the default Orange customized OS instead of i-mate. But when I try to install the orange update it just says "invalid model ID". Is there any way to get it back to how it was ?? Cheers.
Guest nixy Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 Welcome mate. try doing a MoDaCo search with the keyword: downgrading Heres some page links that you may find useful to begin with.... http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...ght=downgrading http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...ght=downgrading nixy
Guest roke Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 Which ROM version are you trying to install? If it's a 1.5 version, just put the device in bootloader and the update will work. If it's an earlier version: don't use it, as it will likely stall on the Orange startscreen.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 One of the many reasons why we do not recomend installing updates from different operators. The only way to get Orange update back is to install a FULL orange update. The only one available at the moment is the Swiss 1.5 Moved to Help and Advice
Guest roke Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 And the NL 1.5, as I have it here...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 roke is the NL 1.5 officially released by orange? If so, do you have the link for the Orange site?
Guest roke Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 Unfortunately, I am not an Orange cmr. That way, I am not able to check the downloads from the NL site, because I believe you have to subscribe there with your mobile phone nr. We don't have Orange here in Belgium, so I had to ask for it in a shop in the Netherlands where I bought the phone, but I got it without a problem. Thus I think they should have released it...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 Ok that was my point, if the NL release is not publically available then only the Orange Swiss one is the offical one to use for now.
Guest roke Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 I don't know if it is publicly available, as you can't see anything without logging in with an Orange nr, and I don't have one... It is very well possible that it is available there, but it will only be for Orange subscribers. Also, how else can they have the update in the shop? I work for a network in Belgium (we also used to be Orange before), and there is no way they get anything which isn't available for all cmrs...
Guest dayloon Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 humm. OK. How can i get hold of a FULL orange update then ?? When 1.6 gets released, will I be able to get it as a full program ?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 The 1.6 update will be available as a download and will fix your problem.
