simple answer is, no, you cant :lol:

Complicated answer is yes you can but you better be really good with a hexeditor.

You are going to have to get a full rom update file (like the first SPV update which wiped everything on the phone when it was installed), find the part of it containing the Orange sunset screen and replace it with your own pic. Then recalcultate the checksum for the rom and update your phone using your modified rom image.

All in all a very risky and time consuming buisness just to change a picture that only shows up when you turn your phone on (but I'm sure someone will think that its a worthwhile venture). The expert in these sort of matters was Florin_m but I don't think he'd go to all that bother just to change the startup screen, unless it was for an image of TUX.
