USING SPV ON O2 NETWORK

Hi there, i have an orange spv phone but have it unlocked to my o2 sim card - i'm trying to use all the functions on it but am having difficulty. I've tried unlocking the software but i'm struggling - i can't even acces wap or gprs yet - have i made an error in buying the phone or do i just need some guidance?

The SPV should work with O2 just fine :lol: I use it with Orange (contract) but have also used Vodaphone and O2 prepaid SIMs with GPRS.

Have a look in the GPRS settings repository on page2 and note there are 3 types of account for O2: contract, Genie and prepaid.

I think you will need the O2 contract SIM to the get FULL internet service on GPRS but as an alternative you can still use the SPV pass through connection to unlock the software. With the PC modem active, attach the SPV to the USB cable and set 'Internet Connection : Pass through connector' and set IE to 'auto detect settings'. You should now be able to surf the internet on the SPV using the PCs modem link and with this will allow you use the OTA application unlock process.
