Guest rikwebb Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Guy's I found this while searching round the net .. a developer handset for sale from ORA. https://www.ora.co.uk/orangeSPV/ Its a tad expensive though !! Rik
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Wow ! £380 is expensive but it comes sim unlocked so its cheaper in the long run - what ive not seen/heard before is the "flash rom" the E-200 has. 64 mb, thats impressive :!: spacecowboy
Guest ranzz Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Is the 64MB flash ROM a mistake or a special edition for developers? Can one purchase this phone without proving he is a developer?
Guest Firaas Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Can one purchase this phone without proving he is a developer? Yeah, the developer edition only means it's designed for development with no SIM lock etc...
Guest Maverick Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Can I claim VAT refund on this phone? Will they send a VAT refund form? I am going back to India in a month's time. But even without VAT, it still is £ 346 if I include the shipping of £21 !!
Guest kingdom master Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 so how will the 64 ram, increase speed of the unit? and can i still be used as an everyday phone? details details please:-)
Guest Maverick Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Any idea as to who will provide the updates for this phone in the future ? If I use the updates from Orange, it could potentially sim lock the phone !!
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 so how will the 64 ram, increase speed of the unit? and can i still be used as an everyday phone? details details please:-) Ive been told by Paul and Midnight that its shared 64mb ram. i think 32mb rom, 32mb ram spacecowboy
Guest coreymcl Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Any idea how soon orders from here ship?
Guest original_enigma Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Expensive - check the web and see the prices offered elsewhere - although this is in theory a developer handset and the SDK thats included in the box should warrant the extra few £££'s over the posted £279 in December .... Orders received before 5pm ship following day by TNT on Standard Service which means up to 4 days but, that is to anywhere in the world. Vat/Tax reclaimation is the responsibility of the purchaser.
Guest benjaminjames Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I would still like to know for sure if this version actually has 64MB ROM. If so it might be worth the extra money. My guess is that it is just a misprint. Can anyone confirm?
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Its definitly 32mb ram
Guest spark-x Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Yep, the spec of the phone is the same, apart from sim lock, but thats not really physical. sx
Guest srider Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 I have one of these units. It's an Orange SPV E200, but network unlocked. Was cost effective for me as it's a tax write off and it's going on a Virgin tarrif. Unbelieveably, it doesn't come with a cradle, just a USB sync lead!
