IS THERE ANYWAY TO HAVE THE RINGTONES PERMANENTLY STORED ON THE PHONE??? SJA
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 You want to do a search here for "SmartTones" - its an excellent application for handling ringtones from the storage card
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 First of all please don't shout and turn off your caps lock  Secondly you are not putting the ringtones in the correct folder on the phone, they need to be place in IPSMApplication DataSounds if you do not have a folder called Sounds create one but make sure you use a capital S in Sounds
Guest seanjon Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Thank...so if i do this i should have my ringtones even if my phone is restarted? also is there a way to delete all sms messages at once? I have the SPV, and I cant seem to find a feature that does that...???
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Yes and as for SMS you will need a seperate app to do this for example SMS tools available to modaco plus members, I believe IA Style have also pruduced a similar app.
Guest albertcamarillo_ph Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 i tried to change the "s" in my app folder but then it just doesnt change and i cannot make use of the sounds i placed in there as ringtone. by the way, can i use my recorded voice as my ringtone??
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 Try creating a new folder 'Sounds' As for recording your voice as a ringtone it's not possible as standard. You would have to convert the amr file into a midi 0 format first.
Guest robert_vanhees Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 Is there any way to put your ringtones on the storage card. I've tried to put in on the storage card by creating the folder application dataSounds. But it didn't work.
Guest cybercamel Posted November 26, 2003 Report Posted November 26, 2003 I recorded my daughters voice by using the basic record function on my computer! It automatically records it as a wav file.

Unless you are running the Qtek or I-Mate update which can play ringtones from the SD card you need to use the app as mentioned above called Set Tones or another option is to use Smart Tones If you click on either of them it will take you to their download links. As I have not used either of them I cannot say which is better but most seem to say Smart Tones comes out on top.
Guest Disco Stu Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Yes, I'd definately recommend SmartTones. You need to create a folder on the SD card (not in a sub-folder) and call it "Ringtones" - dump your .wavs and .mids in their and you're sorted
