Guest jonnyb Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Sorry if this has been asked before (tried the search, but couldn't find any reference). When I try to access Orange Update via gprs or the pass through cable I get the message alert The date in the certificate is invalid or has expired. Continue trying (yes or no). Clicking yes goes away for a while and repeats the message. I can access all the other orange sites etc.... Is this happening for anyone else????? Any Idea's I would hate to miss out on the fixes when they finally arrive..... Thx in advance.
Guest madu Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Sounds like a subscription certificate problem (nothing to do with certif'n issue). Orange must be putting some code in to allow ur phone to qualify for an update.. Must have got something wrong those guys... I guess you should spk to O. Let us know.
Guest rcraswell Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Check the date/time on your clock. Orange Update uses an SSL connection to communicate with the Orange server. If your device date isn't correct, the server certificate won't validate. (This doesn't have anything to do with the general problem of app certification on the SPV, this is purely an SSL issue -- you can generate the same type of error on your desktop machine by setting the clock back and hitting a secure site with your browser.) --ron
Guest jonnyb Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Ron, You are a star! I had my date set to 17/12/2003. (Not sure why) but there you go. Changed the date now connects no problem. Thank you very much. <<< What a phone!, but more importantly what a Forum! >>>>
