Orange Bluetooth Headsets (50% off with new phone)

Which one to buy?

I am upgrading my other halfs phone before xmas and am going to be using the "50% off a Bluetooth Headset" voucher for myself.

This only applies to BT headsets available in the Orange Shop.

I am looking to get a BT headset that is hopefully, got

Reliable (and works with my new e200!)

Comftable

sounds clear for both users!

Long standby time

Long talk time

Durable

has replaceable batteries

has an amazing range!

prob in order of importance, but I want it to be brilliant. Since the 50% off voucher makes them a little more affordable I want peoples opinions on what BT headsets they have used and which they would reccomend / steer clear of etc.

I spoke to a O trainter, and her Manaer recomeded the Platronics M3000 @ £89.99.

This looks ok. I am not sure of the full list of available BT headsets that O do that are to be inlcuded in this offer (ie any that they sell in the O shop)

but I don't want to make a purchase only to find out that one of the other ones on offer was better.

Please help.

Ps I've never used a BT headset before and I'm hoping for good results!

AFAIK the headsets available are

SE HBH-60

SE HNH-35

Nokia BT Headset

Platronics M3000

Possibly a Motorola one looking at the pics on shop.orange.co.uk -

Sadly there are no model numbers or manufactureers listed on the O shop website - Oh dear!

Many thanks to all in advance. I'm sure this might be an upcoming topic of discussion what with the e200 having BT, and this offer and the government changing the law...!

Cheers

Chris

I haven't done that much research on them but like the look of the Jabra BT250. It has amazing battery life, is reasonably priced and I've heard a lot of good things about them.

i think i can help you with this one, (O retail employee)

i have just bought the new motorola headset ...... bloody brilliant !!! i all i have to say. priced at £99.99 so you'd get it for £49.99.

Apart from the flashing swirling blue gel in the side when your on a call (which is good enough lol) it is voice dialling, best earpiece quality i have ever heard on a headset and ive tried most. 5 hours talk time and 100 hours standby.

Although i would just like to say that i was using it with a 6310 and my phone battery ran out before my headset so i would question the talktime, it does seem longer.

A little perk of the headset is when you close the microphone it turns itself off to save battery life but stays paired - so if you receive a call you can flip it open and plonk it on your ear it reactivates itself and takes the call.

Model no is HS810 all stores should have them now we have plenty.

the other new one is the plantronics m3000 with 8 hours talktime and 100 hours standby. I tried it dont like it doesnt seem to last the 8 hrs in my personal opinion but maybe thats because its on all the time not like the motorola.

Nowhere near as comfy and light and despite the three different ear piece sizes the dam thing still wont stay on my ear and tends to flap so to speak. the sound quality is also very 'in a tunnel' sounding.

Mate my best advise to you is try em, either in store or take advantage of the 14 day return.

Happy headset hunting

i have tried a few and I still like my Jabra BT200 the best so perhaps go for the BT250 which is the enhancement. It sepends, I dont like the really really small ones (like bluespoon) as it is like a piece of snot in your ear and too small in my opinion. BIgger ones with a boom are OK if that is what you are after but to me the Jabra is a good compromise between the 2. It is also cheap enough to justify not using a wired heaset (although there are many other things to justify BT anyway)! Not tried one with SPV yet though....

Id recommend either the new motorola headset (cant remember the modal number) which is incredibly small and a good battery life or the plantronics m3000 headset which has an excellent battery.

Personally id go for the motorola simply for the aesthetics.

Expect to pay around £49.99 for each with an appropriate voucher at an Orange retail stores. But stocks are scarce!

Bouger,

I'm going to go with your advice and get the Motorola HS 810. But does it have a replaceable battery, like the M3000?

The website for Motorola leaves a little to be desired, wher as at least with the M3000 I can look at the manual before I buy!

What is the range like on the HS810? I take it you consider this to be better than then M3000?

Many thanks

Chris
