Guest kevlar Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Just got my e200, trying to connect it to my pc using my msi bluetooth dongle and software. I'm net getting very far I'm affraid, the only services I'm being offered are SSA, which I think lets the pc use the phone as a modem, and Voice Gateway. Seems a bit too complicated. Can anyone help please? Cheers Kevlar

Guest kevlar Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 A big thanks to pagemakers for spending about 45 minutes on msn today to help me sort this out. For some reason there was a mix up with com ports, and I wasn't able to get active sync to connect until I swapped a few usb cables about. Cheers m8 Kevlar

Guest marksankey Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 I would try going through the step-by-step instructions at msmobiles.com. I was struggling to work it out but now (after following the instructions on this site) I've got activesync and internet (via the PC) working fine. msMobiles.com
Guest dougsdir Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 Anyone got a link for the fix of this problem. I get the same thing , only the SSA and Voice Gateway services available If i plug in an old Nokia 7650 i get Serial Port, Fax, DUN etc so i know its not my MSI bluetooth dongle. Much appreciated Doug meant to say, its an e200 i have
Guest beersoft Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 the way i got mine working with activesync is delete all the pairing for the phone and pc on both devices get the phone to pair with the pc then pair the pc with the phone set activesyncs comport to the bluetooth dongles port (on mine its com3) on the phone goto activesync then connect via active sync the pc should then say "somethings trying to use my bt com port, tell it to bog off or let it have its wicked way with me" and tell it to always allow this connection and you should be cooking then :) later Owen

Much appreciated Doug meant to say, its an e200 i have Those are the only services the phone offers... :) What you are seeing are the services the phone can provide to clients i.e. SSA = dial up connection through phone and Voice Gateway = use the phone as a headset for the PC - can't think why anyone would do that tho' ... So there is no "fix" - it's just that way and we are stuck with it...
Guest dougsdir Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 This gets wierder!!!! I now have within Entire BT NeighboorhoodSmartphone a Serial Port COM6 on Smartphone, the strange thing is that when i do properties it says its using COM4 Anyway this connects ok and i get the 2 green arrows icon and it says Connected so far so good. Within Activesync's Connection Settings I have enabled COM4. Now on the odd occasion Active Sync bursts into life and the ActiveSync icon turns green and starts spinning. If i open up Activesync it says Connecting but it never does and eventually errors saying it couldnt make a connection. A bit later my Serial Port COM6 on Smartphone disconnects! waaaaggghhh Anyone :?:
