not sure what is going on, but I'm seeing way too much of the little gprs g. The phone doesn't seem to be doing anything, not checking email, no I.E. pages open, but the little g is lit and it won't go out ( not even pressing and holding the hangup key, as on spv ). Restarting the phone gets rid of it, until the next email is checked.

Anyone else getting this?

Hehe

I had to ask Paul this one yesterday(rather than look it up in the manual)

Press and hold down the Home Button - then, Disconnect GPRS ;)

I'm afraid to say, the GPRS timed 'disconnect' function doesn't work, you set it to time out after 1 minute or 10 minutes, and it ignores the setting and stays connected

P,

Will that not cost (I know it is charged per byte,, but there must be some data transfer (handshaking?))?

Quite possibly, I'm not sure what (or if) the idle overhead is?

I have called 156 orange and they told me nothing apart from trying Wap instead. So the G will remain in idle state until a data request is made or Orange fix it. Just found out press and hold the Home screen and select disconnect does work though but it is tiresome.

My fear is the Acceptable Use Policy on Orange World GPRS Offer states unlimited usage but continuous usuage is not allowed. So I asked 156 to make a note on my account......

hey hum another spv another glitch, maybe we just expect too much from technology these days?
