Guest chocobogo Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 I'm getting orange world free for a month with my SPV e200 from onestopmobileshop, It says that you get "Up to 2600 free WAP pages a month" Does this mean I have to set Internet Explorer to use wap, not GPRS? Will MSN Messenger work on WAP??
Guest martin Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 If you have signed up to OrangeWorld then this relates to GPRS internet on the SPV and includes full internet access. First month free. See here for costs: http://www.orange.co.uk/multimedia/cost.html Note the guide at the bottom that states 1 Meg=approx 1200 WAP pages or 20 WEB pages or 100 E-mails or 10 E-mails with 1 page attachment. The Orange World site itself actually uses HTML pages for SPV access but these pages are coded to be as data efficient as WAP pages (hence the bad pictures ). Remember that most other phones can still only receive WAP over GPRS (ha ha) so this is probably the reason for it being the most talked about GPRS service.
Guest foxy11 Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 hmmm, i just foned to see what was going on with my gprs, and was told that the Orange world subscription was wap only. So i then asked for the £4 3mb gprs package, this mean i've missed out on a free month?
Guest martin Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 You should be able to change it. I think they have to cancel any existing GPRS bundle or Access pack before activating the Orange World Access. See here for more info. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=96454
