Guest jwb Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 I know this one has probably been killed in other posts but my question maybe slightly different. I live on the wonderful Island of Guernsey Channel Ilses and would you believe it!! we got GPRS, MMS over here!! WOW we've just got it! (FUNNY) Anyway I've got over the technology boom here in the island and have signed up for the service got the settings: Sever URL http://mmsc.gprs.cw.com/ IP Address 10.0.3.1.1 Port 9201 Put all these settings in where I thought were correct rebooted my phone and theres a 'G' on the screen! tried to send a Multimedia message it said connecting to GPRS (looking Good) then popped up failed to send message (not so good) ;) Just wondering if theres anything else I need to input in settings before it's gonna work?? Thanks in Advance for your help
Guest Will Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 check for spaces in the phone number ie it should be 447887xxxxxx (cannot remember if you need the +) also can you browse the internet? The G just indicates gprs is available, not necesarily configured correctly. Will
Guest jwb Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 The number is ok. No I can't connect to the internet??!!, only when my phone is docked..
Guest martin Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Do you also have the GPRS WAP settings for the network What is often done for MMS setup is to create a new GPRS connection with the same Access Point Name as GPRS WAP and 'Connects to: MMS Connection'. This is unless the network provider has given a seperate Access Point Name for MMS. Description: CW MMS Connects to: MMS Connection Access point: ? User Name: ? Password: ? Goto Settings-Accessories-MMS setup. First field: CW MMS IP: 10.0.3.1.1 (erm this is one number too many - you will need to check it) MMSC Address: http://mmsc.gprs.cw.com/ Port: 9201
Guest jwb Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 I've not set up wap? not sure how to, i've only done GPRS and mms setup I've currently got no Dial up connection, no VPN connections or Proxy connections displayed? but should I?
Guest martin Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 Do you have any other GPRS data settings for your network apart from the MMSC and IP address.
Guest jwb Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 No none at all! I've tried sending myself an MMS too but it still does'nt send. So frustrating and it's £15 per month here for this service!
